We’re Bringing Culture Back.
In South Africa today we are facing a massive dilemma. Due to the poverty that grasps over half the population we as a country are losing the one thing that is most precious to he human race. The one thing that drives us to push forward to escape the circumstances we find ourselves in….
Hope.
Many of the youth and the people in the townships are not working and we find ourselves with a bomb that can go off at any second. They are losing hope and resorting to criminal means to survive.
With Izwe heritage we hope to restore that hope by reminding South Africans of their heritage; to show them that even after centuries of struggles and failure we still stand united. With this initiative we hope to combat poverty by providing jobs for the people in the townships and boosting the economic development in those regions.
The Scope of this initiative will include:
Cultural and Intangible Heritage
Social History, Language, Music, Songs, Literature and Dance.
South African Museums and Collections
All historical objects and buildings that link to our cultural identity.
South African Libraries and Archives
This will include all documents, books and pieces of literature.
South African Heritage Landmarks
All monuments, archaeological sites, cities and landscapes.
Our Origin Story
Welcome Ngeju is just a normal man born and bred in South Africa. For years he has seen the violence and unrest in the townships of South Africa and decided in his own power to do something. He sees the initiatives for penguins and rhinos and how we as humans immediately jump to the cause but wonders why we don’t blink for those in the poorest areas. Izwe-Heritage is his initiative to save the people in the townships ……
The Izwe Heritage Services
Through our efforts we would like to take people from the townships to rediscover their heritage and hope that these visits will start a more positive and open minded approach to life.
We will do this through the following services:
Heritage Exchange
Izwe-Heritage will conduct tours by taking people to our monuments and sites. This will be a program that that will inspire, motivate and give hope to the destitute.
Heritage Exhibition
Izwe Heritage Exhibition will create a collection of heritage works that will be exhibited in different places in South Africa.
Heritage Access
With strong interest on culture and heritage and the digital innovations of the 21st century we aim to tell the South African story in true South African Style.
